Parker High School’s Distinguished Vikings
|
|
When George S. Parker High School opened its doors in 1967-68, no one could have predicted what its alumni would accomplish with their lives. Now that Parker’s first major renovation is complete, the time has come to honor those who have made a difference. To this end, the new addition will include a Distinguished Vikings Wall where we can share the achievements of our alumni with the community.
These Distinguished Vikings may be nominated by their peers, experts in their fields, or people who have benefitted from their contributions and endeavors. They will come from all walks of life but will have one common denominator; they have inspired us.
The Distinguished Vikings selection committee is comprised of community members, administrators, counselors, teachers, and students. Our goal is to recognize areas of excellence that include, but are not limited to:
Service/Community/Charitable Efforts
Government/Political Service
Educational Excellence
Athletics/Entertainment
Science/Medicine/Technology
Entrepreneurial Endeavors/Industry/Innovation
“Everybody is somebody at Parker” is a time-honored motto at Parker High School, and we hope the creation of this Distinguished Vikings Wall, along with the induction ceremony, will allow us to celebrate the life lessons of these distinguished alumni who have and will continue to inspire us.
Please consider nominating a Distinguished Viking! Deadline for nominations is Wednesday, January 6, 2010. Return completed packet to Barb Dougal at Parker High School.
